The project came about as part of Family Follows Fiction, an operation that set out to probe the affective structure of forms and objects, starting with the idea of reproducing the process of object creation common to the world of children and primitive cultures. Merdolino was the first Alessi object for the bathroom as well as one of the first to explore the versatile landscape of plastics. It became iconic thanks to an empathetic, affective and confidential key of expression, and is an object that does more than just "do," it stimulates memory and the desire to play.
Values Collection
A collection of unpublished objects to celebrate 100 years of research in the field of applied arts and the beginning of a new century of experimentation.
